She could have sat and told me all about the planets for all I cared…and in reality, I didn’t care much about the planets at all, but I did when Elizabeth spoke so highly about them. I watched as her eyes would grow with excitement as her stories progressed, I listened as her voice dropped when a joke was approaching, and I spoke when I needed to speak…saying anything to keep her talking. Watching Elizabeth speak was like watching sun rays pour into an empty room; you couldn’t help but feel the least bit hopeful that whatever darkness remained in the world, would simply be gone. People that speak with passion…they have a gift, to be able to make any topic seem utterly boundless and enthralling.. I don’t know how she did it. I was horrible with my words, stumbling over them so carelessly and Elizabeth just waltzed her way through a conversation. I don’t think that opposites attract, I never have. I do firmly believe however, that people are put into your life to make up for the things you lack, they complete you in a cheesy cliche kind of way. So as Elizabeth so gracefully twist and turned her way through the constellations, I sat and pondered about the words I would probably stutter upon speaking, words that began with an I, ended with a you, and contained nothing but love in between…
